PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A cathedral setting engagement ring gets its name from the arches. The shoulders sweep up from the band to hold the stone, a bit like the vaulted ceiling it's named after, and the result is a solitaire with real height.
Here the stone is a lab grown oval diamond, Ideal cut, D colour and VVS clarity or better, picked by eye for its proportions. Raised up on the arches it catches light from every side and looks larger than it would in a low setting. From the side the ring has a lovely profile too, which you notice more than you'd expect once it's on.
If a plain solitaire feels a little too simple but you don't want extra diamonds, this is a good middle ground.
You can have it in 9ct or 18ct solid gold, in yellow, white or rose. 9ct (37.5% pure gold) is the more affordable choice and is hard-wearing enough for every day. 18ct (75% pure gold) has a deeper colour and a more substantial feel. Ask us if you'd like platinum instead.
