UNDERSTANDING THE MARKS
What do hallmarks mean?
Hallmarks are official marks applied by an independent Assay Office to confirm the precious metal content of your jewellery.
SPONSOR'S MARK
Identifies the company who placed the item on the market.
FINENESS MARK
Shows the purity of the precious metal. e.g. 750 = 18ct Gold
ASSAY OFFICE MARK
Confirms the hallmark was tested at an official Assay Office.
DATE LETTER
Indicates the year the hallmark was applied.

The fineness mark tells you how much pure metal is in your jewellery.
